The Rt. Hon. vice-President Mr. Parmanand Jha, who is on an official visit of the people’s

Republic of china, attended today the opening ceremony of the 6th Euro-Asia Economic

Forum 2015 at Xi’an International conference center in shaanxi province. The Forum,

which being participated by both the Governments and the private sector of Asian ano

European countries, will discuss a range of issues of common interests of the region in

separate thematic groups. Launched in china in 2005, the Forum is joinfly organized by the

Government of China and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

other leaders who were also present on the occasion included the prime Minister of

Armenia and the Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia and State and Provincial leaders of

china. Nepal, together with cambodia and Armenia, have been approved as dialogue

partners by the 2015 SCO Summit held in Ufa, the Russian Federation.

Addressing the gathering, the Right Hon. vice-president underscored that this Forum has

forged a bridge between Europe and Asia, creating a wider anay of opportunities for further

cooperation. He viewed that countries’progress within a region has become inconceivable

without regional cooperation in the contemporary world of interdependence. He also

stressed on the need to work together to pursue our common goal of creating a better world

where peace and stability prevail, and economy and human security prosper.

The Rt. Hon. Vice President also spoke about the various aspects of Nepal-China relalions

and thanked the Government and people of china for the cooperation and solidarity they

extended to the Government and people of Nepal during the devastating earthquake of April

25,2015.

Following the opening ceremony, the Vice president was paid a courtesy call by state

councilor of the People’s Republic of china Mr. wang yong on the sidelines of Forums

meeting. The two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest during the meeting. The two

sides agreed that the existing friendship, exchange and cooperation between Nepal and

china should continue in future for the best interest of the people of both the countries. on

the evening of 23 September, state counciilor Mr. wang hosted a reception in honour of

the visiting foreign dignitaries.

similarly, acting Governor of shaanxi provincial Government called on the Rt. Hon. Vice

President this afternoon at the shaanxi state Guest House. on behalf of the shaanxi

Provincial Peopl’es Government, he hosted a luncheon in honour of the Rt. Hon. vice

President of Nepal. on both occasions, the visiting Nepali delegates and the senior leaoers

of China were oresent.

The Vice President left for Shenzhen city of Guangdong province this afternoon on his way

back to Nepal. He will be received in Guangzhou, the provincial capital of Guangdong, by

the Provincial leaders. He is also scheduled to meet with representatives of Neoali

community living in Guangzhou.

The Rt. Hon. Vice President will leave for Kathmandu from Guangzhou on 26 septernoer

2015.
