Nepal Foreign Affairs (KATHMANDU, 6 April 2020) – The government has decided to extend the lock down until midnight April 15.
A cabinet meeting held on Monday afternoon made the decision to this effect. This is the second time the government extended the nationwide lock down.
Nepal government has been taking effective measures from the beginning to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus. Nepal is the least affected country in the world from this pandemic.
The government had first enforced the week-long lockdown order from March 24. Amid rising coronavirus cases, the government on March 29 decided to extend the nationwide lockdown by another week, until April 7.
As of Friday, the country has witnessed nine COVID-19 confirmed cases. Of them, 1 had recovered and other eight are still receiving medical treatment.
